Rushwise Academy · Part 12 of 13 · Log, notes and backup

Back up your footage and keep a project log

Every project keeps a log that Rushwise writes by itself: cards, backups, Davinci Resolve and exports, with the date and time. Add your own notes, and make a checked backup of the whole project folder with one click. Part 12 of the Rushwise Academy, the series about the app for Davinci Resolve editors.

Premieres on Fri 6 Nov

The log

Every project keeps a log. Rushwise writes in it by itself: every card you add, every backup, every time you put it into Davinci, the markers you place, and a file in your Exports folder. Always with the date and time.

Your own notes

In the same list, you keep your own notes. Click Add note, type, and click next to it to save. Your notes are yellow, so they stand out.

Edit or remove

Click a note to change it, and remove a note you don't need anymore with the cross. With Only my notes, you just see your own notes, without the automatic lines.

Make a backup

Then the backup. In the menu with the three dots, choose Make a backup, and pick a folder on your backup disk, for example your backups folder.

Copying

Rushwise copies the whole project folder, with all your footage, into a new folder with the date and time in its name. So an older backup is never overwritten. Every file is checked, just like when you add media, and you can keep working in the meantime.

Done

When it's done, you get a message, the step Backup made ticks itself, and the log says which disk it's on.

Not complete

Did your disk get full, or did you stop it? Then the folder has incomplete in its name, so you never mistake it for a full backup. Click Try again, and Rushwise makes a new, full one.
