Put in your card
Put your card in your Mac, open the project, and click Add media. A window opens: choose the card, and click Choose. Rushwise only reads your card. It never writes anything on it.
A look at the card
First, Rushwise takes a quick look at the card: how many videos, from how many cameras, recorded on how many days. Then you choose how the video is sorted, just for this card: per camera, per shooting day, or all in one folder. Each choice shows the folders it will make.
Which camera?
With per camera, Rushwise asks which camera this card is from. Pick one of the cameras of the project, or click Other name and type your own. Rushwise remembers it for this card, so next time it already knows.
All in one folder
All in one folder puts everything together. Give it a name, like Camcorder, or leave it empty, and the clips go straight into Footage.
Straight into Davinci
And with Then also put it into Davinci, the new footage goes into your Davinci project as soon as the copy is done. That's part nine.
Copying
Click Add media, and the copy starts. You see how far it is, how fast it goes, and how much time is left. You can keep working in the meantime: the progress stays at the bottom left. And Stop ends it, whenever you need to.
The summary
When it's done, your Mac sends a notification, and you see the summary. Green means every clip was copied and checked, and you can safely format the card. Part seven is all about that.
In the right folders
Back in the project, the first work step has ticked itself, and the log shows what was copied: from which card, how many clips, and how much. Every clip is now in the folder of its camera.
