A project folder template: every folder in seconds

How to make a new editing project in a few seconds: pick a category, give it a name and a shoot day, choose where it goes, and Rushwise makes the project folder with all its folders on your disk. Including a deadline of its own. Part 5 of the Rushwise Academy, the series about the app for Davinci Resolve editors.

New project

Click New project at the top left. A short window takes you through five steps: category, name, date, destination and structure. At the top you always see where you are.

Step 1: category

First, the category. Pick one, and the project gets the folder structure and the delivery time of that category. No category is fine too. And with New category, you make a new one right here.

Step 2: name

Then the name, for example the couple or the client. It becomes the name of the project folder, so a few characters, like a slash, are not allowed. Rushwise tells you right away.

Step 3: the shoot day

Next, the shoot day. The deadline is counted from this day. Right below it, you see the date, and which delivery time it comes from. Want a date of its own? Click Choose a date. Or tick No deadline.

Step 4: where it goes

Then where the project goes: your work drive, or a folder on it. Click Choose and pick the folder. Rushwise makes the project folder inside it.

Step 5: the folders

Last, the folder structure. The structure of the category is already chosen for you, and on the right you see exactly which folders will be made. You can choose another one. Then click Create Project.

Done

And that's it. The project folder is on your disk with all its folders, and the project is in your overview. Open it, and it's ready for your first card.
